about

PUZZLED (EP) is the product of a collaboration between Bad Salad, South-Korean keyboardist Junghwan Kim, and great supportive fans.

After having successfully toured with Junghwan Kim in Brazil in support of "Uncivilized" (2012), Bad Salad thought it would be a cool idea to invite him back in 2013 to write and record new music together. We wanted it to be a live experience rather than an internet collaboration, with all members writing together inside a rehearsal room. The time Junghwan had reserved to stay in Brazil was limited so Bad Salad decided that the project would consist of a 3-song EP + videos for each song.

To make the experience even more special Bad Salad decided to get the fans involved by setting up a crowdfunding project on 'Pledge Music' and offering a bunch of exclusive packages for those who wanted to directly support and follow the progress of the EP. At that time the project was named "Summer Salad 2013", and it quickly reached its funding goal and was ready to launch.

A few months later and here we are with "PUZZLED". A lot of care was put into this EP, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did this whole crazy international musical experience! It's been quite a ride and we're really glad to finally share these songs with you!

Track Name: Pain that Binds Us
I'm puzzled everyday to see the world is upside down
Punished honesty, while crooks rejoice in wealth
Meeting ends has become a living nightmare
Stripped of dignity, survival's all that matters

In silence the system will devour you
Your stillness is destined to desert you
We're losing our minds but not our souls
On the brink of desperation
I cry out for hope

Awaken now
Join me brothers and resist
I promise you tonight we'll make a difference
Relieve us all from the injustice borne within
Together we are strong
This can't go on, we must resist

Bred like rats by shepherds
Scourging underground
Living off the scraps which they provide

Sentenced to oblivion
Shouting at the walls
Seeking out the knowledge they deny

In silence the system will corrupt you
Your stillness will certainly allow you
We're losing our minds but not our souls
On the brink of desperation
We hold on to hope

Awaken now
Join me brothers and resist
I promise you tonight we'll make a difference
Relieve us all from the injustice borne within
Together we are strong
We can't go on living like this

Come with me
Don't let me down
We've come too far to turn around
We fight for something beautiful, you see
The pain that binds us will set us free
Track Name: Moonlight
Pale as moonlight
Kindly smiling down
While remembrance fades away
Hard to feel it closing in

She's been there my whole life
Watched me rise and fall
With no sorrow on her face
Hard to feel it rushing in
Touching thoughts I long to keep

There used to be a time our hopes and dreams were realized
Caught in the beginning
Plans to live forever
As if we'd never change, I overlooked what really matters

But those days are gone now
And all that's left is an old man

Lost inside a blank mind
The lights dim down
And leave me out in darkness
But maybe once
I'll get the chance
To reach out to golden years
Through memories that revive me
And only then I'll be set free

Reel me out
Bring me in
Don't let go

Hold me tight
Keep me close
Forever

Pale, the moonlight
Brightly pouring down

Lost inside a blank mind
The lights dim down
And leave me out in darkness
But maybe once
I'll get the chance
To reach out to golden years
Through memories that revive me
And only then I'll be set free

Lost inside a blank mind
The lights dim down
And leave me out in darkness

Reel me out
Bring me in
Don't let go

Hold me tight
Keep me close
Take my hand
Stay by me
Forever
Track Name: Deep Roots
You think the world owes you just because you were born
Think again, nobody owes you anything
You always give them war

It's always someone else's fault
Everyone's against you
Show your face and accept it
The problem lies in you

You never let go
You won't change a thing
You deserve nothing and your hands aren't clean
Remember there is life beside your own

Don't you feel?
You're bleeding hate
A rotten tree with the roots too deep
I don't think you have any soul

Take a look and see what you have built
Walls so high guarding nothing inside
Poor of soul and weak of mind
A blindfolded ego makes you live a misleading life

You went too deep to raise your throne
You're all alone and your hope is gone
There's no way back from where you are
Face your destiny
Redemption is far

Poison words are all you got
And cheating others is your game
A devil in disguise
Trying to live in the sky

Selling others dirty lies
Making your believers slaves
Then leave them behind

Take a look and see what you have built
Walls so high but they break upon sight
Frail as your soul, ruined as your mind
That blindfolded ego will be your demise

What did you learn and what have you gained
Treating others like shit, you have just yourself to blame
The world is spinning but you remain the same
You know, revolution isn't your name

What did you learn and what have you gained
Treating others like shit, you have just yourself to blame
The world is spinning but you remain the same
You know, revolution

Stuck to the ground
Feeding from fear
Your time has come
Your time has come

I'll be here when your kingdom falls
I'll be standing here to see it all
Your poison words won't convince anymore
I will watch you lose your own war
